Flashcard Buddy is a flashcard app with full spaced repetition, AI tutoring, and five study modes. No subscription. You buy a pass when you need one (Finals, Semester, or School Year), use it until it runs out, and there's nothing to cancel. Rated 4.4 stars.
You can drop in a PDF, take a photo of your notes, or paste text, and AI turns it into flashcards and practice tests. If you're coming from Anki or Quizlet, you can import your decks directly.
Five ways to study:
Study uses the SM-2 spaced repetition algorithm (same as Anki) in an interface that doesn't look like it was built in 2006
Practice Test generates timed or untimed multiple choice and true/false quizzes from your cards
Write Mode is fill-in-the-blank with fuzzy answer matching, so minor typos don't count against you
Learn Mode creates AI-generated study questions with hints
Max Tutor is a conversational AI tutor that teaches through the Socratic method and quizzes you as you go
