About
Read WeTransfer’s terms of service last year and couldn’t unsee it. Your files get scanned, analyzed, used however they want including feeding AI models. Same with Dropbox, Google Drive, all of them.
Somewhere in the fine print you agreed to let them do whatever they want with your stuff.
The business model is simple.
Storage is the product you see, your data is the product they sell.
Spent months building Rapidly which is P2P file sharing where files go directly from your browser to the other person’s browser with no server in between holding copies.
Nothing gets uploaded anywhere, nothing gets stored, nothing to scrape because the copy doesn’t exist once the transfer is done.
No account needed, no app to install, no file size limits, works in the browser, and the whole thing is open source so you can read every line or run it yourself if you don’t trust me.
Not trying to compete with Dropbox on features. Just wanted one thing that actually works without my files ending up in some training dataset.
If anyone here has tried other P2P solutions I’d love to hear what worked and what didn’t.
