There are plenty of "European alternative" directories out there. Most stopped updating in 2023, list US-incorporated products as European, or just scrape app stores without checking anything.
We verify incorporation, headquarters, and hosting for every product. If it's US-owned, it doesn't get listed. We've removed products after launch when the community pointed out we got it wrong.
The Hacker News launch was fun. 326 points, 142 comments. The very first comment pointed out we were hosting on Cloudflare. They were right. We migrated to Bunny.net within the week.
