I’m building Tokochi — a tiny creature that evolves from your AI token consumption.
Because let’s be honest: developers are absolutely burning tokens now.
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, agents, side quests, repo explorations, “fix this bug,” “actually rewrite it,” “now make it cleaner,” “now explain why it broke,” and suddenly your little coding session has consumed enough tokens to feed a small village.
So I thought: what if token usage was not just a bill?
What if it became a pet?
Tokochi is a virtual dev creature that grows as you use AI coding tools. The more you build, prompt, debug, refactor, and token-maxx, the more your Tokochi evolves.
No manual token entry. The idea is to connect with tools like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other agentic coding systems through a local collector that tracks safe metadata like:
agent sessions
estimated tokens consumed
No prompt text.
No code content.
No file contents.
No secrets.
Just enough signal to feed the creature.
The fun part is evolution.
Use tokens productively and your Tokochi becomes a cracked builder beast.
Spam prompts all day and ship nothing? It might mutate into a Prompt Goblin.
Survive a 3-hour debugging spiral? That’s character development.
The whole thing is basically:
Feed tokens. Grow creature. Flex your AI grind.
I’m still early and trying to figure out if this should be a serious dev companion, a meme product, or both.
