About

Transfer Legacy is a zero-knowledge encrypted vault that makes sure your family can actually access your bank accounts, crypto, and digital life if something happens to you β€” no lawyers, no seed phrases, no technical steps.

Here's the problem: when someone passes away or becomes incapacitated, their family rarely loses the money β€” they lose access to it. Bank accounts freeze pending succession certificates that take 4–7 months. Gmail, the master key to nearly every password reset, is often set to auto-delete after inactivity. Cryptocurrency held in a self-custody wallet is gone forever the moment its seed phrase is lost, because no institution can recover it. A will tells a court who legally inherits an estate β€” it does nothing to help a family actually reach the accounts inside it. An estimated $140 billion in digital assets goes permanently unrecovered every year for exactly this reason.

We're starting with the sharpest version of this problem: crypto holders, whose assets are the most valuable and the most irrecoverable digital asset class. Your vault is encrypted entirely on your device β€” we never see the plaintext. Trusted guardians you choose each hold a fragment of your decryption key, using Shamir's Secret Sharing, so no single person β€” including us β€” can ever unlock your vault alone. A gentle check-in system detects if something has happened to you and, only then, releases plain-language, step-by-step instructions to your guardians.

We're a two-person founding team building this ourselves β€” one of us leads product and growth, the other leads the cryptographic and backend architecture. We recently completed a full internal security audit of our own codebase and are closing the gaps it surfaced before opening this up broadly.

We're currently pre-launch, onboarding early access members ahead of public beta.
