I built turnout with the aim of simplifying and reducing the friction in maintaining relationships that are important to us. It takes a lot of work to co-ordinate and keep a relationship alive/growing. Doing things together, being around each other and spending time together are important to deepen relationships. Planning those are hard though because of the friction of having to co-ordinate when everyone would be free and what time works best and all that shenanigans.
Turnout was created to help solve this. I tried to keep it simple and easy to use for all. You simply share your free time window(can be set once or recurring) , and your friends do the same. The app displays it and finds overlap matches to plan hangouts or do something fun.
I added some features that I believe would be helpful to maintaining relationships.
a) Users can share free time and see friends' free time plus overlaps.
b) Users can nudge friends to hangout when an overlap is shown.
c) Users can plan/create hangouts with friends.
d) Users can discover hangouts posted by friends and join hangouts
e) Users can create Spontaneous or Planned hangouts.
g) Users can create circles with other users to share availability.
h) Users are always in control of who sees their availability and who they share it with.
