About
The standard MacBook battery indicator is easy to ignore. It sits there quietly showing a number, and you tend to notice it right about the time your Mac dies in a meeting.
Battery Beggar gives that battery a personality instead. As your charge drops through 50, 25, 15, 10 and 5 percent, it reacts and gets progressively less patient with you. Five personality packs are included: Dramatic, Passive Aggressive, Stoic, Anxious, and Matter of Fact. Voice mode reads the lines out loud, so the warning still lands when you're not looking at the screen.
It's a menu bar app. Show the icon, the percentage, or both. There's also a clean battery readout with the personality switched off for when you want less drama.
Everything runs locally on your Mac. No account, no sign-in, no ads, and no data collection.
The app is free. An optional Percy Voice Pack adds 49 recorded lines from the app's anxious mascot in his own character voice, as a one-time in-app purchase.
