Most calculators hand you a number and nothing else. Numeros shows
the arithmetic that produced it, with your own figures substituted
in, so the article and the result can never disagree.
Every figure on the site is computed by running the formula before
publication rather than typed from a reference. Sources are named —
federal statutes and standards bodies, not encyclopaedia entries —
and each tool states plainly what it cannot account for.
The mortgage calculator returns the full monthly payment: principal,
interest, tax, insurance and mortgage insurance together. Most return
principal and interest only, which is 25–30% below what actually
leaves your account.
