What it is
Mailbox MCP is a hosted remote MCP server that connects a mailbox you already own to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or any other MCP client. One connector URL, nothing to install, no new address, and nothing to migrate into.
Works with
Microsoft 365 with one sign in, Gmail with an app password, and anything else over plain IMAP. It searches your mail, reads what is inside the attachments (PDFs, spreadsheets, decks, scanned pages), drafts, replies, sends, forwards and files. A calendar connects separately.
It behaves like a mail client, not an API wrapper
Reading does not mark anything read. Flags stay where you put them. Attachments arrive SHA-256 identical. Replies carry proper In-Reply-To and References headers, so they land in the existing thread instead of starting a new conversation at the recipient's end. Exactly one copy is filed in Sent.
Permission is real, not advisory
Every connection carries a level: read only, draft and file, or send and delete. The server refuses anything outside that level at invocation rather than hiding a button. Sending, deleting and archiving ask for approval every time, and there will never be a "send without asking" setting. Nothing of yours is stored either: messages are fetched from your provider, used to answer, then dropped, and credentials are encrypted at rest.
Pricing, and who built it
Free tier is 5 calls a day per mailbox, no card and no trial that ends. Pro is GBP 34.99 + VAT per mailbox per year, which is 1,000 calls a day. Built by BSolve IT Limited, a small company in Kettering trading since 2002.
Two or more people on one mailbox
Team Access puts named colleagues on a mailbox its owner holds, each with their own assistant, their own permission level and their own line in the activity record. A message can be claimed so two people do not answer the same one, and somebody who may draft but not send can write the reply and mark it as waiting for the owner to approve and send. Tiers are 3, 5 or 10 people per account, from GBP 119.99 + VAT a year on top of Pro.
