MoneyMatter is an open-source personal finance app you can self-host for free, or use on the cloud from $30/year. In both cases I don't sell or share your data.
Connect your banks via SimpleFIN, LunchFlow or Monobank, or import CSV and bank statements. AI categorizes the transactions, and you get budgets, investment portfolios (stocks, bonds, crypto) with real-time prices, net worth and cash flow analytics – all of it multi-currency.
It also ships a remote MCP server, so you can connect Claude, ChatGPT, or OpenRouter models (including your local models) and ask how to improve your spendings, rebalance your portfolio, or simply manage messy data (tricky transfers, refunds, etc) against your real data. You choose the access level and can revoke it anytime.
Self-hosting is free (AGPL-3.0, Docker). Cloud has a 40-day trial with no card, and there's a demo on the landing with no signup.
