DeskDash is a desktop widget app for Windows 10 and 11. It turns your desktop into a live dashboard: the information you check and the actions you repeat sit one glance or one click away.
The widgets do things and keep their state. Desktop Drawer opens your apps from the desktop or any folder. Shelf launches any file, folder or program you drop on it from Explorer. Todo and Habits keep the lists you tick off, Schedule and Calendar remind you on time, Now Playing controls your music, and your installed Steam and GOG games launch straight from a widget, with nothing to sign in to. Everything happens in one place. You browse the marketplace, install a widget, see what it asks for, grant it, update it and remove it, all inside the app. The same store has taskbars too: swap the Windows taskbar for one from the store (a macOS-style dock, for example) and switch back in one click.
Every widget runs sandboxed. It gets only the capabilities you grant, and a misbehaving widget only affects itself.
Arrange, resize and restyle widgets on a grid, match their colors to your wallpaper, and give each monitor its own layout. Layouts come back when a display reconnects.
Anyone can build a widget or a taskbar with plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript and publish it to the marketplace.
