About
Old Findings is a collaborative platform for identifying orphaned photographs. Discover scanned film negatives from flea markets and estates, grouped into open cases with established facts and specific questions to solve: location, date, subject, and more.
Contribute your expertise—whether you're a local historian, architecture enthusiast, translator, or geolocator. Submit claims with reasoning and confidence levels. Watch cases progress through visible stages as clues accumulate: a tile pattern, a bus model, or a street sign can pinpoint a location.
Every contribution builds the reasoning chain. Solved cases are documented with full identification logic, preserving both the photographs and the knowledge that brought them home. Cross-border, community-powered, and completely free. Help restore orphaned images to public memory while the people who recognize these places are still here.
