About
OldRoll Web brings the vintage aesthetic of the established OldRoll camera app to your browser. Designed for people who love nostalgic photography, it lets you apply camera effects and film-inspired filters to your photos without installing an app. All creative assets available on the web version are free to use, giving you the freedom to explore different looks for everyday moments, travel memories, and personal expression.
Real photography guides the development of OldRoll's effects. Our team makes extensive comparisons with images captured on actual cameras, studying their color rendition and visual characteristics to inform filter development. We also use extensive image datasets and conduct real-world shooting tests across indoor and outdoor settings, low and bright light, and a wide range of color environments. These comparisons help us evaluate and refine how our effects respond to different scenes.
Our R&D team translates these observations into algorithm research and development. By studying real camera output and researching publicly available color-processing methods, we develop original effect algorithms that support OldRoll's distinctive vintage looks. Multiple patent applications have been filed for this work.
Building on years of developing vintage camera experiences on mobile, OldRoll Web makes that creative approach accessible through the browser. It combines a focused collection of camera effects and filters, development grounded in real-camera testing, and free creative assets to help more people bring vintage character to their photos.
