1. COI Shield Buddy is an AI-powered compliance tracking platform built for small construction contractors (1–20 employees) who hire subcontractors on every project.

The problem: Every general contractor must collect Certificates of Insurance (COIs) from every subcontractor before work begins. If a sub's policy lapses mid-project and something goes wrong, the contractor is legally liable — lawsuits in this space routinely run $100K+. Small contractors currently track this in Excel spreadsheets or email folders, and enterprise tools (myCOI, TrustLayer, COI Rocket) cost $5,000–$20,000/year with a 200-certificate minimum. That leaves the entire small-contractor segment priced out of the market.
