About
Every MCP server that gets real traffic eventually needs two things: a way to see how much it's actually being called, and a way to stop a runaway caller from costing real money or locking up a shared resource.
mcpmeter is that, done once. Zero dependencies, no database to provision, no account to create.
- Meter: one function call per tool invocation, returns false if a daily limit is hit
- UsageStore / PersistentUsageStoreRegistry: per-caller usage breakdowns with optional JSON-file persistence across restarts
- RateLimiter / DailyLimiter: in-memory fixed-window limiting, per-caller and global
Extracted from a real production MCP server (agent-identity-mcp, hosted at api.flo-voice1.com/mcp) and dogfooded straight back into it the same day — not a weekend toy, something already running behind real traffic.
