About
Upvotes tell you people noticed. They don't tell you why someone would pick your product over another one.
LaunchThrone shows your project next to another project at the same stage, with names and logos hidden. People choose the one they'd actually pick and can explain why with quick reasons (clearer pricing, better design, easier to understand what it does, easier to get started, more original idea) or a short comment.
Why a comparison instead of a rating?
- "Rate my project 1-10" gets polite, vague answers. Choosing between two forces a real decision, the same one your users make when they compare you with an alternative.
- You learn what made people choose you, or not, so you know what to fix first.
- It's blind, so a big audience or a famous name doesn't help. Only the project counts.
How it works:
- Three separate boards: Idea, Building and Live. A weekend idea never competes with an established SaaS.
- Every comparison updates a rating where beating a stronger project counts more. Rankings become official only after enough comparisons from different judges.
- Founders vote too, but never on their own project.
What it doesn't do:
- No paid ranking, ever. Money never moves your position.
- No follower votes: you can't send your audience to vote for you.
Open to apps, SaaS, tools, browser extensions, APIs and templates, or an idea for one of these. The first 120 projects are free, and each board opens once 6 projects are in.
