Sherlock Search checks where one face may appear in public. Upload one photo and review possible visual matches, then investigate the original pages before you trust an online identity. The workflow is designed to keep preparation separate from the actual comparison: you frame the face, confirm free access without a card or account, confirm the final photo, and then inspect relevant public sources. Results are presented as leads with confidence bands (Strong/Likely/Unlikely) rather than proof of identity, ownership, intent, or wrongdoing. Sherlock Search only checks publicly available web pages; it cannot access private profiles, deleted pages, or content blocked from the search provider. Uploaded media is retained for up to 24 hours, and the private workspace stays in your browser with no registration required. Use the evidence, not thumbnails: open the original page for context, corroborate names/dates/captions/history, and prioritize review using the confidence bands.
