About
SortaSeat turns a pasted guest or student list into a print-ready seating chart in seconds. Paste names, and the generator sorts them A-Z by last name — handling hyphenated names, prefixes, and married-name preferences — then assigns tables for weddings and events or rows for classrooms with deterministic, even-handed logic you can audit.
Everything runs in your browser. There is no signup and no upload: the list never leaves your device, and shared links carry the names inside the URL itself. Drag anyone between tables, keep unassigned guests in a clear holding list, and refine placements without breaking the alphabetical order.
Export a poster-ready 18x24 or 24x36 PDF with bleed marks and a safe zone any print shop accepts, or pick an escort-card size. Same list, same chart, every time — free.
