SlideSieve is a browser extension for Chrome and Edge that automatically captures slides and extracts synchronized transcripts from online lecture videos on Coursera, Udemy, YouTube, and DeepLearning.AI. Export slides as multi-page PDFs or high-resolution images, and transcripts as TXT, SRT, VTT, PDF, or CSV. All processing runs locally in your browser, and no video or image data is sent to any server.
While a lecture plays, SlideSieve watches the video using real-time image analysis and perceptual hashing. It detects slide changes, skips instructor talking-head segments, keeps progressive bullet builds, and discards duplicate frames. At the same time, it pulls the lesson transcript and syncs it to playback.
KEY FEATURES
Auto Slide Detection: finds real slide transitions across different course layouts, with no platform-specific APIs.
Instructor Frame Filter: rejects frames dominated by the presenter, so only slides are saved.
Smart Deduplication: keeps step-by-step builds and diagrams, drops near-identical frames.
Detection Zone: draw a region over the player to capture only the slide area, or exclude a floating webcam box. Zones are remembered per course.
PiP Magic Eraser: rebuilds the slide behind a webcam overlay using clean reference frames, so you get the full slide.
Synchronized Transcripts: the current sentence is highlighted as it's spoken, with click-to-seek. Switch between Timeline and Article views.
Manual Snap: grab code, terminal output, demos, or diagrams at any moment with Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+9.
Floating Toolbar: start or stop capture, snap frames, or open transcripts right below the video.
Slide Browser: review slides in grid, list, or full-screen mode and delete unwanted ones before export.
Local Organization: slides and transcripts are sorted by course and lesson and stored in browser IndexedDB.
15 languages, including English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
HOW IT WORKS
Open a lecture on a supported platform.
Optionally set a Detection Zone.
Click Start Auto Capture and play the lecture.
Add manual snaps and remove unwanted frames.
Export your PDF or images, plus the transcript.

Everything runs in the browser, nothing is uploaded, and no account is needed to start capturing.
