About

Tidy lives in your menu bar and reads what’s inside your files, then names, sorts and finds them for you. Everything happens on your Mac: no account, no server, no telemetry.

It reads inside your files

Screenshots and images (on-device OCR), scanned PDFs with no text layer, up to 40 pages each

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pages, Numbers, RTF, HTML, emails, invitations, contacts and books

Voice notes and videos, transcribed on your Mac (macOS 26, off by default)

It names them the way you would

An email screenshot after who wrote it and what it’s about; a post after the app and the username; a document after the title you see on the page

Date, type and issuer taken from the paper: “2026-07-31-invoice-grumpy-spa”

Every name shows where it came from, and Tidy learns from the names you correct

Rename now without writing any rule, or right-click “Rename with Tidy” in the Finder

It finds anything

⌥Space from any app: search by a word inside images and scanned PDFs, see the passage and the page

Duplicates by content: two files that say the same thing under different names

Reads the due date on a bill and offers a reminder

Rules that work on their own

Write the rule in plain words: “PDF invoices to Finance”

Filter by type, name, the text inside, or where the file came from

It learns your habits and proposes the rule, and only touches files created after you add a folder

It keeps your Mac tidy

Files away Desktop screenshots (CleanShot, Shottr, Xnapper and Monosnap too)

Ejects mounted .dmg files and trashes the installer

Scan with your iPhone as the camera: the page lands in Downloads, straightened and already named

It looks after you

Warns if a card number, an IBAN or a passport is sitting in the open, and spots executables disguised as documents

“Keep Tidy off this”: what you mark is never moved, renamed or trashed

A safety net that undoes what an AI did to a folder

“What changed?”: two versions of a document, side by side

And Palito, a stick man in your notch who tells you what Tidy is doing and dances to your music (off by default).

What it never does: delete anything (it all goes to the Trash and can be undone), upload your files, or ask for a subscription.

$9, paid once, with a 14-day guarantee. Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 14 or later. In English, Spanish, German, French and Portuguese.
