About
Sudwire Newsroom watches the official bodies that publish news about an area, such as police, councils and government agencies, and drafts the stories local readers need for an editor to review.
It reads their websites and feeds, news pages without a feed, YouTube channels and press releases sent by email. Scout, its sources assistant, finds the official sources for an area in most countries. Each new item gets a score from 0 to 10, routine notices are left out, and the best stories are written in the site's language, with a credited photo when one may be used and a link to the source.
Drafts arrive in WordPress, through a free plugin, as posts pending review, or in Ghost as drafts. It only writes from another news outlet when the publisher chooses to, crediting it, and drafts that reuse too much of the source's wording are rewritten or dropped.
Paid plans are priced by articles a day, from $47 a month, with a 14-day free trial on Starter and Pro.
