Afterword

Afterword is a menu-bar app for macOS 26 that writes the notes for your Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls. No bot joins the meeting. It records from your Mac and starts by itself when a call begins.

Transcription runs on your Mac with Apple's speech models, split into Me and Them. The summary uses Apple Intelligence, so you need an Apple silicon Mac. When the call ends, a plain markdown note with the summary, decisions, action items and the full transcript lands in a folder you choose, such as an Obsidian vault.

There's no account to make. Audio and transcripts stay on the Mac; the app only goes online to check for updates and activate a license once.
