About

PayDocs is a pay stub generator for the United States and a payslip generator for the United Kingdom. It is made for people who pay others but do not need a full payroll subscription: small business owners with a handful of staff, families who employ a nanny, carer or housekeeper, restaurants, construction crews, churches and nonprofits, and company owners who pay themselves a salary through payroll.

You start with the details from your own payroll record. A three-step form takes you through the employer and employee, the pay period and amounts, and a final review. Pay-frequency presets for weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly pay (fortnightly and four-weekly in the UK) fill in the period end and pay date from a start date. As you type, a live preview builds the document, and that preview matches the PDF you download.

The US and UK tools are built separately, so each uses the right terms and structure. For US pay dates in 2026, PayDocs can calculate federal income tax withholding from Form W-4 and IRS Publication 15-T, Social Security and Medicare, and state income tax withholding in 40 states. For UK pay dates in the 2026/27 tax year, it can calculate PAYE income tax from the tax code, National Insurance for every category letter, student loan and Postgraduate Loan deductions, workplace pension contributions, directors' National Insurance and statutory sick, maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental and bereavement pay. Each calculated line names the rule set it used and stays editable, and you enter anything else, such as local taxes or benefit deductions, from your records.

There are six original layouts for each country: Classic, Modern, Compact, Executive, Bold and Minimal. Beyond pay stubs and payslips, PayDocs makes the employee and recipient copies of Form W-2, Form 1099-NEC and Form 1099-MISC, and the UK P60, from figures you enter.

Creating and previewing a document is free and needs no account. A free account lets you save drafts, keep your employees and documents in one place, and duplicate a document for the next pay period. A finished PDF costs $4.99 per pay stub or £3.99 per payslip, with packs of 4 for $14.99 or £11.99 and packs of 12 for $35.99 or £27.99. Pack credits never expire, and prices are shown before you pay with no add-ons.

The site also offers free tools: a US paycheck calculator with state pages, hourly and salary paycheck calculators, a UK take-home pay calculator, PAYE and National Insurance calculators, pay stub and payslip templates, and a free payroll register template for Excel or Google Sheets.

PayDocs is a document preparation tool, not a payroll service. It does not file anything with the IRS, SSA or HMRC, and it does not verify employment or income. It is meant for recording real pay from records you are authorized to use.
