Send a photo or scan of a passport, national ID card or driver's licence in one POST /v1/scans call and get the printed fields and the machine-readable zone back as JSON, with a verdict on whether every MRZ check digit validated. A request refused before recognition ran is never charged. Every account gets 100 free recognitions every month, and a public sandbox key in the docs lets you make a first call without signing up.
