Fit to Limit compresses files to a target instead of a quality slider. Pick where the file is going (Discord, Gmail, WhatsApp, a visa or exam portal) or type a size, and it finds the highest quality that still fits. Video: MP4 or WebM, resolution and frame rate chosen from the bitrate budget, never over the limit. Photos: exact pixel sizes, crop to the required aspect ratio, a min-max KB window, JPEG/PNG/WebP/AVIF, HEIC input, EXIF removed. PDF: lossless optimisation first, then rasterised pages when that is the only way to guarantee the size. Plus a database of upload limits with the official source and the date each was checked. Everything runs locally in the browser with WebCodecs and WebAssembly: files are never uploaded, and after first use the tools work offline. Free, no account, no watermark. Supported by ads; the compression engine is open source (MIT).
