About
The Novel Kit is a pre-publication check for fiction. Upload a .docx, .epub, .rtf or .txt manuscript and one scan, in seconds, builds every report: names, places and invented words spelled more than one way (Velora and Vellora), names a reader could mix up, likely aliases, terms never explained, characters who vanish, a story clock, typography, spelling standard and house style. It places the book against 12,606 published public-domain novels, and builds the documents a finished book needs: a fiction style sheet for your copyeditor, a series bible, a reader glossary, character and place directories, and a pronunciation guide for narrators.
Every check is a written rule. No AI model reads your manuscript, so the same file gives the same answer every time, and manuscripts are transiently processed and never stored. It runs in any browser on Mac or PC, with no Word or plugin needed.
A free scan of the whole manuscript shows the headline counts and the strongest findings. Passes are $16.99 for 7 days or $24.99 for 30 days, one-off; Prolific / Series Author is $89.99 a year and Editor, licensed for clients’ books, is $199.99 a year.
