About
Most expense apps make you fill out a form for every purchase. In Outlayr each entry is a sentence with blanks: "Spent $12.00 at Chipotle for Food from Visa today." Tap a blank to fill it, say the sentence out loud, or scan the receipt and the blanks fill themselves.
What's in it:
- Purchases can log themselves: on Android from your bank's notifications or Google Wallet, on iPhone through an Apple Pay automation in Shortcuts
- Budgets that project where the month ends, savings goals, and subscriptions and bills with a reminder before each charge
- 165 currencies, each converted at the rate from the day you spent it
- Home and Lock Screen widgets, an Apple Watch app, Face ID lock, CSV import and export
- English, Spanish, Portuguese and French
It's local-first: the ledger lives on your phone and works offline, no account needed. It's open source (the app is GPL-3.0, the backend AGPL-3.0) and has no ads. The free plan covers everyday tracking; Pro adds sync across devices and raises the limits.
