About
Pixelroots is a 1000×1000 pixel board – a million pixels of shared space on one web page. You select any free rectangle of at least 5×5 pixels, upload an image or text, choose a background colour and, optionally, add a link to your website. The price is US$1 per pixel, so the smallest patch costs US$25. Payment runs through Stripe, there is no subscription, and your patch stays on the board for at least 12 months after payment. Every paid pixel commits Pixelroots to funding one tree. Trees are not planted at the moment of purchase: they join a planting queue. We have not yet published a planting-partner agreement, and no plantings have been recorded so far. Buying pixels is not a carbon-offset certificate, and we don't promise any particular traffic, clicks or search rankings.
