About

Shepit turns speech into text in any app on your Mac. There's no separate window to dictate into and nothing to copy-paste: hold the hotkey, say what you mean, release, and the words appear where your cursor already was, in your editor, browser, Slack, terminal, email, Notion, IDE, or that one internal tool nobody else supports.

What you say is transcribed and then cleaned up by AI: filler words, false starts and repeated phrases are removed, punctuation is fixed, and the result reads like you typed it. Shepit understands around 100 languages, so you can think out loud in the one you actually think in.

Setup takes under a minute: drag the app to Applications, sign in with Google, grant Microphone and Accessibility, and you're dictating. Every plan has all features; plans differ only in minutes per month. The Free plan gives 30 minutes a month forever, no card needed.

Requires a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) on macOS 26 or later. Made by Rebbix.
