About
Mass Rename is for the batch that starts with a spreadsheet. You have a folder of files and a sheet that maps the current names to the new ones: invoice scans, product photos, delivery packs, exported audio, or anything else where someone already worked out the naming.
What it does
Drop in a CSV, TSV or XLSX file and the files themselves. Mass Rename matches each row to a file, shows a preview, and returns a renamed ZIP. The sheet needs two columns, old name and new name; common headers are detected automatically, and you can change the columns if yours are different.
Before anything is written, every file gets a status: will rename, unchanged, conflict, illegal name, or no row in the sheet. Duplicate targets are skipped rather than overwritten. Windows reserved names and illegal characters are blocked. Rows that match no file are listed separately, and the list can be exported as a CSV.
Details that matter in real folders
Matching is case-insensitive and ignores the extension. The extension on disk always wins.
Subfolders are supported; files stay in their own folder.
Names can be built from several columns with templates like {SKU}_{Color}_{n}.
Photos can be renamed from EXIF date taken instead of a sheet.
Chrome and Edge can rename a folder in place and undo the last run.
PowerShell, BAT and shell scripts can be exported for a command-line run.
Privacy and price
Parsing, matching and zipping happen in the browser tab. There is no upload and no account. The first 50 files in each batch are free; a one-time $19 licence removes the cap. The tool is tested to 5,000 files per batch and has a 30-day refund policy.
