Persian License Plate Recognit

Persian License Plate Recognition (PLPR) reads Iranian license plates from a camera, a video or a photo, and decides whether the car may enter.

Version 2 runs the same models in four places:

- A web app that runs the models in the browser with WebGPU or WebAssembly. It works offline, in Persian or English.

- The original desktop app (PySide6)

- An API server (FastAPI) with residents, entries, a review queue, signed webhooks and API keys

- An edge agent next to the gate camera that reads RTSP, buffers while offline and can trigger a barrier relay

The engine uses ONNX Runtime with no PyTorch at runtime, a Persian plate grammar, and a tracker that votes across frames so one car gives one entry. Docker setup included. GPL-3.0, 450+ stars on GitHub.
