Why I Built Kindlyfied

I used to constantly jump into ChatGPT just to double-check the tone of my messages.

Did this sound too harsh?
Too blunt?
Too formal?
Too… something?

Every time I wrote a message — especially at work — I’d copy it, open ChatGPT, paste it, ask it to “make this kinder,” then copy it back. It worked, but it completely broke my flow. And honestly… it made me look like someone who spends way too much time fixing commas and softening messages.

At some point I realized:
Why am I doing this manually, every single day?

So I built Kindlyfied.

It’s a tiny desktop app that runs in the background. Whenever I write something and think, “hmm, maybe that sounded a bit sharp,” I just highlight the text and press:

⌘ + ⇧ + ;

Instantly, the message gets rewritten in a kinder, more thoughtful tone — without leaving the app I’m in, and without breaking my focus.

No switching windows.
No copy–paste routine.
No awkward tone-checking ritual.

Just a simple shortcut that makes my communication a little bit better.

If you’ve ever reread a message five times wondering whether it sounded rude… you’ll probably love this too.
