About
I built Seatplan when I was getting married and walked straight into the political minefield that is the seating chart.
Those of you who are married know exactly what I mean. Those of you who aren't - you'll underestimate it at your peril.
We tried Excel. We tried paper. We tried moving Post-its around the kitchen table at midnight while arguing about whether my uncle could survive three hours near her aunt. There had to be a better way.
I looked online. Everything I found had fixed table sizes, preset layouts, rigid templates a clunky drag interface and a $200 price tag. Nothing matched our actual venue. So, to my wife's dismay, 4 days before our ceremony, I started building.
SeatPlan.io is what came out of that. Drag any table, any shape, any size, anywhere. Since our wedding, 200+ couples have used it to plan theirs. I've added real-time collaboration so planners and clients can work together - no more "which version is this?" over email.
Happy to answer questions about the build, the tech, or the finer points of wedding seating diplomacy.
