About

TLDR

Notchification transforms your MacBook's notch into a live build monitor. See at a glance when Claude is thinking, Xcode is compiling, or Gradle is building. Beautiful animations, satisfying confetti when tasks complete, zero distraction. Built for developers who are tired of wondering "is it still running?"

Full Story

I'm Alex,

The maker of Notchification.

As a developer, I constantly run long processes. Xcode builds. Gradle syncs. Claude thinking through complex problems. The feedback loop was broken.

I'd kick off a build, switch to Slack, get distracted, and five minutes later realize the build finished ages ago. Or worse—I'd sit there staring at a terminal, waiting, when I could've been doing something else.

Looked at my MacBook's notch. Just sitting there. Doing nothing.

So I put it to work.

What it does

Notchification monitors your developer tools in real-time and shows a sleek indicator right in your notch:

- Claude CLI - See when Claude is actively thinking vs. waiting for input

- Xcode - Know exactly when Swift/Clang compilers are running

- Android Studio - Track Gradle daemon activity without checking the IDE

When a task finishes? Confetti. Because you earned it.

What makes it different

Actually smart detection

Not just "app is open." Notchification monitors CPU usage and process activity to know when work is actually happening. Claude thinking at 80% CPU? You'll see it. Xcode idling? Nothing shown.

Beautiful, not distracting

Smooth spring animations when tasks start. Animated wave progress bars. Color-coded by app (orange for Claude, blue for Xcode, green for Android). It feels native to macOS.

Multiple tasks at once

Running a build while Claude works on your next feature? See both, stacked cleanly in the notch.

Stays out of your way

No dock icon. No windows to manage. Lives in your menu bar. Toggle monitoring per-app or globally. That's it.

Privacy-first

No network access. No analytics. No data collection. Everything stays on your Mac.
